Let’s avoid being sedentary and bored.
Everyone should get moving not matter what your physical ability level. Here are some fun ideas for families looking for something you can do as a family. You’d be surprised at how many places offer great accommodations and deals for families and kids with mobility needs.
Bowling-Most bowling allies have a metal bowling ball track for children to send the bowling ball down. This activity not only gets kids moving, it is social and most kiddos of all ages find the cause and effect aspect of bowling.
Arcades-Invest in some noise canceling headphones if your child has sensory needs. There are games for all ages at most arcades, so find one that requires a simple push of button to play and your child may really enjoy this activity.
Seattle Children’s Museum– This area has many different sections based on various themes. You can go to Japan and a few feet away venture into an industrial kitchen with wooden food toys for days. Go mid-week to avoid large crowds.
Seattle Aquarium-The large aquarium in the front is my favorite part. The tide pool area can be cool for those that like to touch and feel. Fun for the whole family especially those with sensory needs.
